IHE-Europe part of epSOS consortium, a European eHealth Project

IHE Europe is representing an industry consortium of more then 30 companies as a beneficiary in the Smart Open Services for European Patients (epSOS project) launched on 1st of July 2008 that will be in progress for 36 months.

A European wide project, the epSOS project is organised by 27 beneficiaries out of 12 EU-member states including ministries of health, national competence centres and industry. The project is co-financed by the European Commission within the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) and is structured into work packages which cover different issues such as the analysis of the current situation in the participating countries, the exploration of legal questions, the development of technical specifications covering all basic components of secure use of personalised health data and finally the set-up of the test environment where the findings can be tested in a close to real life situation.

Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise Europe (IHE-Europe) is a project member and has appointed a project manager to organize and oversee the concerted contribution of the individual companies into the epSOS project and work with the epSOS project leadership team to ensure and coordinate industry involvement.
