IHE Austria
IHE Austria
The idea of forming IHE Austria was initiated by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health, Family and Youth and by the "Task Force ELGA", the organization responsible for implementing the national EHR in Austria.
Target of this association is the support for the technical implementation of the national EHR project ELGA ("Elektronische Gesundheitsakte Austria") and other eHealth projects for increasing quality, effectiveness and efficiency of healthcare in Austria.
The IHE Framework and especially the IHE-Infrastructure profile have been chosen as a basic framework for ICT interoperability in the ELGA project, and are therefore of special interest in Austria.
Membership
IHE Austria was formally founded in December 2007 as a society under Austrian law by four founding members. The recruitment of regular members started in March 2008. Membership is open for organisations and also for single persons. Currently, IHE-Austria is composed of 47 members.
The aim of IHE Austria is to establish a network of stakeholders, organisations and persons who are interested, so that productive, cooperative and target oriented work can take place.
