IHE Turkey was founded by the contribution of Turkish Society of Radiology, Medical Imaging Association and Turkish Medical Informatics Association in November 2009. IHE Turkey is currently a working group under Turkish Medical Informatics Association (TURKMIA).
    
Mission: To help improve public health in Turkey by ensuring interoperability of healthcare information systems and supporting efforts to achieve patient data integrity, security and shareability. In order to do so, IHE Turkey provides compatibility and interoperability of healthcare information systems by implementing technical frameworks and integration profiles of IHE, and fosters communication and exchange with similar institutions worldwide.
IHE Turkey also seeks to help identify priorities of healthcare information systems with respect to the national needs, serves as a gathering platform for national healthcare information companies and institutions, and increases awareness of information technology concepts among healthcare professionals.

Membership
Individual and organizational membership is possible. The members are
users, developers, vendors, healthcare provider managers and the staff of Ministry of Health.
