IHE-D Information Day : A focus for the 40 participants were presentations and discussion on the potential for IHE integration profiles to improve medical care in Oncology as well as the use of IHE Integration Profiles in setting up a healthcare network in the state of Tirol (Austria). National Technical Manager: National Sponsor(s): IHE-Deutschland (IHE-D) is a registered association in Germany ("eingetragener Verein" - e.V.) made up of both individual and corporate members. Caretakers are appointed for the domains of ITI, Cardiology, Laboratory and Radiology, which are the key areas of interest for members. In addition to leading work in their respective domains, caretakers coordinate with other working groups as required. There is strong interest in the Radiology domain among IHE-D members and special attention is currently being given to the laboratory domain. There is a particular interest in the development work of IHE Pharmacy and proposals for new development activities in IHE ITI, originating from German projects to implement electronic health records. A number of German projects related to the creation of electronic records is considering the inclusion of elements from the XDS family. IHE-D has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the German HL-7 Group regarding mutual cooperation. Integration Profiles in Oncology as well as the use of XDS receive particular attention in Germany. A group on the integration of medical devices and IT has recently been set up MembershipIHE-D membership includes 46 members of which 26 companies, 4 user societies, hospitals and others, 2 industry associations and 14 individuals (primarily IHE users). Members include the German Radiological Association, ZVEI, and VHitG, and the Cardiology Department from Kiel University (maintaining a liaison with the German Cardiology Association).
