IHE-Europe to hold Connectathon 2009 in Vienna

The IHE-Europe Executive Board is pleased to announce that the Ninth Annual European Connectathon will be held in Vienna, Austria from April 20 to 24, 2009. Hosting the Connectathon will support the Austrian IHE initiative in further developing their presence in the healthcare interoperability community, according to IHE co-chairs Peter Kuenecke and Karima Bourquard.

Patient Health Records Emerges As Top Priority At Eighth Annual IHE Europe Connectathon

Over 300 engineers from 83 companies gathered at St. Catherine's College, Oxford, England for the eighth IHE-Europe interoperability testing event, or Connectathon. More than 1850 interoperability tests were carried out over the five days with Cross-Enterprise Document Exchange for the first time there rivaling testing in the Radiology domain.

IHE Europe Strengthens Its Leadership For Healthcare It Interoperability
A new international non-profit association called "IHE-Europe aisbl" was formally created in a ceremony in Brussels. The new pan-European legal status is an important milestone in the history of IHE with national initiatives already existing and active in Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Israel and the United Kingdom.
