Sponsors and Supporting Organisations

A broad range of organisations, companies, institutions and private persons support and participate in the IHE-Europe initiative.

Sponsors assume the responsibility that all IHE activities are in line with the purpose of the Initiative and that the Initiative is in a position to serve its purpose. Sponsors are therefore committed to the support of the activities of IHE in Europe. They provide support, direction and requirements for selecting integration problems most critical to the members of the sponsoring professional organizations. They also support vendors in the definition of the technical specifications related to the identified integration problems.

Other scientific or other professional organizations are important supporters of the IHE process and play an essential role in defining the requirements for IHE Integration Profiles. They will fulfill the role of IHE Partner at the European as well as the national or regional level.

Participating Companies apply the technical specifications defined in the IHE Technical Frameworks into their respective medical IT products. To do so, Participating Companies have to comply with the rules set up for IHE activities in Europe. In exchange they are given the possibility to develop and test the interoperability of their products against reliable rules on a neutral platform.
