USE CASE DRIVEN METHODOLOGY
Specify an interoperability framework, its governance and the interoperability road map for the deployment of eHealth projects at the national, regional or local levels.
The methodology is based on a process of six activities for better traceability from needs to the implementation in products and solutions.
Use case driven methodology is a methodology that support the definition of the interoperability use cases and their priorisation and allows the development of the interoperability specifications for projects based on:
- The objectives of the national eHealth strategy;
- Experiences and best practices
Benefits:
- Do not reinvent the wheel: several countries have successfully deployed their eHealth ecosystem by using existing materials and guidelines that will help to reduce risks and therefore costs;
- Newcomers are generally lost because of the huge amount of knowledge that needs to be appropriate: the methodology simplifies the access to the information and support the development of the ecosystem by providing a standardised guideline;
- Drive the adoption and the reuse of existing profiles and standards that were already implemented elsewhere;
- Share experience by using the same concepts and methods with other projects.
The European projects Antilope and eStandards developed interoperability use cases that are today available, using the templates defined in the Antilope Refined eHealth European Interoperability Framework.
