IHE-Europe recognises the importance of protecting the privacy of information provided to us. Accordingly, we strive for compliance with all the EU privacy laws and follow industry best practices in order to best serve our community.

We consider all members, subscribers, vendors, users, conference attendees and speakers part of the IHE-Europe community. The following guidelines have been created to demonstrate our commitment to privacy.

Collected Information

The information we collect is gathered from several sources. These include, but are not limited to: our membership, conferences, distance learning, publications, and newsletter subscriptions. From these sources we may collect postal addresses, e-mail addresses, telephone numbers, and/or demographic information for those individuals that volunteer such information. For each visitor to our websites, our web server automatically collects the visitor’s domain name and IP address only, but no other identifiable information unless volunteered. In addition, we collect aggregate information on which web pages visitors access or visit.


How We Use Collected Information

As part of a membership or subscription agreement, members and subscribers shall be contacted by IHE-Europe through mail, e-mail, and/or phone, for the purpose of comunicating news, activities and updates.

IHE-Europe also may contact members and subscribers for marketing purposes. We may share information in the following ways:

  • When you provide contact and demographic information to IHE-Europe, we may share this within IHE related organisations (i.e.: IHE-International, IHE-Services, IHE EU-Affairs).
  • We share aggregate demographic information and statistics with other interested parties.



We use cookies to store visitors’ preferences, record session, record user-specific information such as what pages users access or visit, and customise web page content based on a visitor’s browser type or other information that the visitor sends.

IHE-Europe takes every precaution to protect your information from unauthorised use. When you submit sensitive information via our websites, the information is protected both online and offline. When our registration/subscription form asks sensitive information, that information is encrypted and protected with the best encryption software in widespread use.

From time to time, we may use provided information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy policy. If our information practices change we will immediately post any adjustments to our policy on this website. This will serve as your notification of these changes.
